Welcome

The purpose of this organization is to allow abused woman and their children, if they have children, to start over-mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually through help from volunteers we have recruited and other organizations that are willing to help.

There will be numerous opportunities for the woman including but not limited to: group meetings, substance abuse counseling, mental health treatment, transportation, and help to get employed if they are not already.

Trusting the Process

Her Fork in the Road is by all means, new to everyone's minds. We have just started the process of getting this thing up and running and we want it, of course, to be the best that we are capable of making it. With this all in mind, we have to remember that it's not all about the outcome--however important and amazing it may be. It's about the journey. It's about the process. This is a total learning experience for us all, and with starting this from scratch, it's most definitely a trial and error at this point. But it's that trial and error mentality that is making it worth while.

This process is a bonding experience as well as a learning experience. I can say the Elyssa and I are closer than ever and if the relationship we have developed is all that comes out of this, I'd still be grateful.

This organization is our dreams coming true. However, in the past couple of hours I've been realizing how strenuous the process to achieving our goals is. This paperwork is tedious, time consuming, and flat out annoying to say the least--but I know the the result will be so miraculous and amazing that I could care less how much time we spend on it.

I thought I'd get my two cents out on this topic and leave you all with this sole lesson:

The most precious moments we endure are the ones we experience on the journey. It's not about the gold at the end of the rainbow--it's about the process of getting over the rainbow in the first place.

With love and gratitude--
Kim
